Read at the beginning of each meeting…
- We are here tonight because each of us has been affected by a mood disorder in some way.
- We are here because we know that together we can do better than trying to do it on our own.
- We are here because we know that the Lord is the source of the hope that we need; He alone can do all things and in Him we can overcome all things.
- We are here because we know that while medicine is a key component in our mental health medicine, medicine alone does not give hope. We also need insight into thinking differently and doing things differently in our relationships and our daily living.
- We need encouragement: encouragement to live our lives not as victims of our disorder but as overcomers; encouragement to fully live.
- We are here because we know that we need one another; for we are people that understand. Each of us is at a different place in our journey and we can learn from one another.
- We are also here because we need accountability. It’s too easy to use our mental health as an excuse for not “pushing through.”
- And finally, we are here because we need hope-fresh hope-to live each day and hope for a bright future.
